Harlem born Daniel R. Day, known as Dapper Dan was inspired to pursue his career as a Fashion Designer after his college years travel to Africa though The Urban League and New York’s Ivy League Columbia University. His innovation in luxury design was inspired by popular fashion houses. His work has been displayed at The Smithsonian Institution in the Nation’s capital as well as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Modern Museum of Art and The Museum at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City among others. Dap has partnered with Italian fashion house Gucci, Gap Inc. and Puma among others. He is the recipient of the Vogue Magazine CFDA Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Daniel R.
